Warlock
The warlock class controls the powers of the demons, fire and shadow to spell destruction for their victims. Their defining characteristic is to cast curses and disease on mobs. In addition the Warlock will gain several pets or minions along the way. These include a very talkative Imp, a Succubus, Void Walker, Felhound and an Infernal pet. Each minion also has their own benefit to the Warlock for combat. The warlock is capable of casting shadow and fire damage. Another spell to the benefit of warlocks is Fear. This causes the mob to lose control of their actions and run around aimlessly which is especially helpful during player vs. player combat.
The warlock’s ability to create Soul stones makes them a hit with the group dynamics. A Soul Stone allows them to be able to cast an instant resurrect on either themselves or another party member immediately upon death. When leveling a warlock it is best to utilize the Demonology spec until you reach approximately level 60 to assist in survival while soloing. Another group pleasure is the warlock’s ability to summon other players to their location which is helpful during the longer raids when others may need to hearthstone to repair or purchase food. In addition to soulstones a warlock can make healthstones that will heal the user. Unlike the soul stone the health stones are not a single player but can be given to all group or raid members. As with other classes not all races are able to roll a warlock. Alliance races that have that privilege are Gnome and Human. With the implantation of the last expansion pack this broadened to include Dwarf and Worgen. Horde races include Blood Elf, Orc and Undead. When expansion released it included Goblin and Troll races as well. Another benefit to the warlock class is the ability to summon a mount at level 40. The minions are allowing for extra crowed control especially when coupled with Fear.
The warlock unlike its mage counterpart has higher stamina then mana. The warlock is also a cloth wearing class that can hold their own in both player vs. environment and player vs. player combat. Unlike the mage the warlock does not have as high as dps to kill the mobs but utilizes the curses and disease to DoT or deal damage over time. The class is difficult to play and adapt too. In addition though the warlock has many pets there is not a single pet useful in all situations. Warlocks provide the player with a class that is fun to learn and master as well as high survival to level.
