Shaman
Shamans control nature and elemental magic to destroy the mobs and heal the group members. Shamans also incorporate totems to buff the members of their party that are within range of them. The Earthbind totem slows the enemy. The healing totem is water based and heals party members that are within range. The Flametounge totem increases the spell power of all party members and is fire based. The Mana Tide Totem restores the party’s mana as they deal dps to the mobs. Cleanse Spirit removes curses as the mobs counter attack the party members. They are bestowed the ability to summons one totem per element. These are just some of the over twenty totems a Shaman can learn. Shamans can also buff their group or raid with Bloodlust. This buff increases the attack or spellcasting for the party. The personal buff, Ghost Wolf, is gained at level 16 and increases their speed by 30%. In addition the Shaman is able to call himself back to his home city every 15 minutes without the use of their hearthstone. Most shamans are spellcasters with the exception of the Enhancement Shaman who prefers melee fighting.
The Enhancement Shaman not only has the ability to dual wield they are able to summon spirit wolves to aid in combat. The Elemental Shaman is able to cast fire and lightning at a range distance. They are also able to push back enemies. Resto Shamans are magnificent healers. They have a spell that is called Chain Heal that gives an instant heal to all party members as well as a HoT or Heal over Time healing properties. Shamans are considered the perfect blend of melee and spell casting. They have high dps and are also able to be used as secondary healers. Shamans are the only class that is able to self resurrect then in turn resurrect the other members of the group. Due to the flexibility of the class focusing on just a couple aspects is almost impossible making difficult to specialize.
Their armor starts off as leather but once they level they will be able to wear mail armor however, with Shamans they must pay attention to the buffs and statistics of each armor piece in order to maximize dps and heals. Draenei and Dwarf are the alliance members that are able to become Shamans. The Horde races able to roll a Shaman are Goblin, Orc, Tauren, and Troll as of the last expansion pack. When leveling a Shaman it is best to utilize the elemental tree as it will assist with better crowd control and greater dps.
